On April 9th will YOU help 500 competitors Storm the Castle?

We are just a few of the Harlech Triathlon Club team who organise the Storm the Castle Events. We have many male helpers as well but they were too shy to be in the photo!

On April 9th some 500 athletes and fun runners will compete in our four events, all of which culminate in the 200 steps from the Water Gate to the finish line in the centre of Harlech Castle.  This is the 16th year of our fantastic event, which is run by volunteers and has donated over £10,000 to groups in Harlech.

We need a large number of helpers to ensure the event a success. It’s a whole weekend of activity but help at any of these times would be appreciated:

Saturday 8th April 1-3pm to set up the transition area by the Pool
Saturday 8th April 3-5pm to set up spectator barriers and finish line at the Castle
Sunday 9th April - morning – help direct athletes on the bike and run route and welcome them at the finish line
Sunday 3-5pm – dismantle the transition area
Sunday 3-5pm – dismantle barriers and finish area at the Castle

It’s a great way to meet people – other volunteers and the competitors, many of whom return year after year. Everyone gets a free bacon buttie and drink on the day of the race and you even get an invitation to a party! A week or so after the event we invite everyone to join us for cheese, wine and beer.
